Anxiety…

Anxiety —that feeling of nervousness and restlessness that often overwhelms us— is nothing more than the result we get from not occupying our minds in the "present" moment; since it's the inability to control tomorrow (not knowing what will happen) that truly generates anxiety.

In that sense, and if we engage in introspection, we will realize that the energy we invest in trying to maintain control is not proportional to the control we actually achieve; this happens because life only occurs in the present.

Therefore, it is the "here and now" the only frame of time where we can have true control; since it is only in the here and now where life is truly happening.

Hence, to overcome anxiety, what we have to do is focus on the "current moment"; that is, see what we can do now that will have a positive impact and bring us well-being, as what we do "today" is the only thing we can truly control.
